FAL weekend – KarenV

I decided to finish up a piece that I stitched a couple of weeks ago, Quaker Four Corners Sampler by The Goode Huswife. I made it into a mattress-style pincushion, the first time I’d finished anything in quite this manner. I used Vero M’s instructions, which are on the tutorial links page and they were very clear:

Thanks Anne for organising the FAL sessions 🙂 They’re a great motivator!

FAL weekend – Lucialoo

Here’s my first post (as an author) on this blog ! My english is not that good (I’m french) so excuse me if I’m not very wordy ! This first FAL weekend was supposed to be a pillows weekend, but I didn’t manage to do the second one as I changed my mind concerning the fabric and I’ve got to wash it first !

Here’s what I did : a pink and violet pillow. The design is Hearts & Flowers by Carriage House Samplings.

FAL weekend – Anne S

Unfortunately I’ve only been at home for 3 whole hours the entire weekend thanks to working both days plus a work function Saturday night, but seeing as I set the dates for the FAL I couldn’t go to bed tonight without actually forcing myself to put something together into a finished status … I managed to complete two Christmas ornaments.

The Prairie Schooler Santa is one of Mum’s first ever XS pieces that she stitched for me, and I tried just using a simple finish of quilt batting in the middle of the two pieces of fabric – I’m not entirely sure whether I like this way of finishing, but it was worth trying this new method out.  The second finish was a Lizzie*Kate ornie made simply into a pillow.  I even dragged my ornamental Christmas tree out again for the piccies LOL.

I was really keen to do one of my ‘larger’ finishes tonight, but I thought my concentration wouldn’t be up to the challenge … they’ll just have to wait in the finishing pile until next month – the hardest decision will be which one to attack first! 😀

If you wish to add your finished items to the blog, don’t forget you’ll need to be set up as an author by either Karen or I, so please leave a comment if you’d like to be added to the list.  We look forward to sharing your wonderful creations 😀

It’s Finish-A-Long time!!

I can’t believe it, but the FAL weekend has arrived already!  I’m personally working bad shifts all weekend, so I’ll have precious time to do much finishing, but I hope to at least get one Christmas ornie dragged out of FUFO status and  promoted to “finished” status by Sunday night.

I hope a few of you will join us in bringing one or two items out of the FUFO pile – and that you will post your finishes over the weekend for us all to share in the joy that comes in actually getting something finished! 😀

I look forward to seeing what you all achieve over the weekend 😀

Poll results to date

I just thought I’d share the latest poll results as from a few minutes ago – thanks to everyone who has voted so far, it gives a better indication of where the greatest needs are, and we have something concrete to work from in the future 😀  Don’t forget, though, you can still vote, as the polls will stay open for a while longer yet to give everyone a chance to vote for their favourite topics.

Without further ado, the polls results to date are as follows (in order of greatest number of votes first at the top of the list):
